Sea water is used for fire fighting, street cleansing, flushing of sewers, flushing of toilets and other sanitary purposes where the use of potable water is not essential. The License Agreement under which "AquaGib" operates envisages the provision of sea water in the same state as that which exists in the sea near the water intakes to the pumping station. Domestic customers are charged a Salt Water Rate by the Government.
Application forms for a supply of sea water are available on request from the Customer Services department of AquaGib Ltd situated at Leanse Place, 50 Town Range, Gibraltar.
Application forms incorporating the Consumer Services Agreement and the General Conditions and Regulations for the supply of potable water are also available on request. These may be obtained at the Customer Services department of AquaGib Ltd situated at Leanse Place, 50 Town Range, Gibraltar.
Customers must ensure that their water installations comply with the Water Rules 1975. The right exists for such installations to be inspected and connections may be refused in the event of non compliance. Before making any alterations to their installation customers are required to give written notice to "AquaGib"
A 24 hour service is provided to deal with cases of supply failure and emergencies. Reports should be made on Tel No 20073659 which is manned around the clock.
AquaGib Ltd is certified to ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Standards. It is a joint venture company between the Government of Gibraltar and the Northumbrian Water Group. As well as providing the Potable and Salt water supply services "AquaGib" manages and operates the Public Sewage Pumping Stations in Gibraltar and carries out meter reading and billing services on behalf of the Government Electricity service.
