Salt water

Use a dual-flush toilet

Choose a shorter flush for liquids and a longer flush only when necessary.

Reduce cistern volume safely

A purpose-made cistern displacement device can reduce the water used by each flush. Do not obstruct the mechanism.

Potable water

Choose a shower

A conventional shower generally uses less water than a bath. Keep showers brief.

Only boil what you need

Use enough water for the drinks you are making rather than filling the kettle.

Turn off the tap

Do not leave water running while brushing your teeth.

Fix drips and leaks

A dripping tap wastes water and money. Repair it promptly.

Wash full loads

Use washing machines and dishwashers with a full load where possible.

Report burst mains

Call AquaGib’s 24-hour fault line immediately so the problem can be investigated.
